Move Over for Work Zones. Don’t Zone Out.

“Move Over in Work Zones. Don’t Zone Out!” is the key message of MoDOT’s annual work zone safety awareness campaign.   The campaign kicked off during National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week April 7-11, 2014. The goal of this work zone campaign was to reduce work zone crashes and fatalities by educating Missouri drivers on the importance of driving safely and reminding them of the new law requiring them to move over a lane for MoDOT vehicles. This campaign also focused on operational work zones and not just construction work zones.   From April to October, 2014, MoDOT maintenance crews were busy working in moving operations performing striping, signing and mowing operations.   Motorists need to slow down and move over for them, just as they slow down for traditional construction work zones.
