I-95 Bridge over Kenduskeag Stream in Bangor
For the facilitation of the rapid and safe repair of a major interstate bridge, CPM Constructors created a traffic control plan that included the placement of 17 electronic message boards (containing modems so that messages could be changed from a laptop) with information for motorists at strategic points along the accesses to I-95 bridge; placement of Jersey barriers between restricted opposing traffic lanes to help motorists keep focused on the road and not construction activities; and utilization of traffic cones and retro-reflective signage. The result: no major accidents or traffic tie-ups during construction.
