Incident management techniques on major construction projects
In New Hampshire, prior to beginning work the contractor is required to submit a progress schedule and TCP to the engineer for approval. Prior to major work, a preconstruction conference is held to outline the proposed schedule and coordination of the work, in part, as it relates to the TCP. As part of the contract, when traffic control is such that a vehicular breakdown would cause a significant problem, arrangements are made to have a wrecker on site as necessary (sometimes 24 hours a day) to clear the disabled car and resolve the situation. Pilot cars may also be required.
