AGC Calls for Tougher Laws, Fines in Road Work-Related Crashes
Author/Presenter: Davis, BryanAbstract:
The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America called for tougher standards for road construction zone safety. According to a survey conducted by AGC, nearly half of the Alabama contractors who responded to the survey said they accounted for five or more road work zone related crashes in the past 12 months, with 70 percent reporting worker injuries as a result of those accidents. Contractors said tougher laws, fines and legal penalties for vehicle violations in work zones could drastically cut down on these accidents.
