Caltrans to Motorists: Move Over or Slow Down When Passing Work Zones and Help Protect Highway Workers

Abstract:

Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and construction industry contractors are calling on all Californians to do their part to make highway work zones safer for workers by moving over or slowing down when passing maintenance, construction, or emergency personnel stopped on the side of the freeway. Caltrans meets regularly with contractors to discuss mutual safety concerns and closely coordinates with CHP to find the most effective ways to enforce the speed limit and the Move Over Law to make workers safer.
