Full Road Closure for Work Zone Operations: A Case Study – Accelerating Construction and Reducing Crashes During the Rehabilitation of a Major Downtown Route
Abstract:This case study is one in a series of documents that examine the use of Full Road Closure in work zones. More information on this methodology, and variations of full road closure, is available in the companion document, Full Road Closure in Work Zones-A Cross-Cutting Study (Report No. FHWA-OP-04-009).
This case study reflects information gathered during interviews with project personnel on the M-10 rehabilitation effort in Detroit, Michigan. Information was also gathered through the Michigan DOT website.
