In Her Own Words: How One Incident Changed My Views on Safety

Abstract:

In this article, the author shared her own story about how learning first-hand the impact of one safety incident on her fourth day in a Community Affairs and Safety Department position at CSX Transportation has changed her career focus from community affairs to safety. Citing annual work zone crash statistics, the author promotes ARTBA’s ongoing work and commitment on ensuring the safety of transportation construction industry workers and the public in and around work zones.
