Road Construction Crews Gearing up for Busy Season
Author/Presenter: Cronkleton, Robert A.Abstract:
It’s the time of year again when roadway construction projects start and safety is at the front of workers’ minds. That is especially true this spring after several motorists, including an Overland Park man who died, hit work trucks used by crews filling potholes. Highway officials will use this week, designated National Work Zone Awareness Week, to remind drivers that crews soon will begin working on the area’s roads. Kansas highway officials plan to use the state’s new “Safe, Not Sorry” campaign throughout the summer to remind motorists to be careful when entering work zones.
