State Cracks down on Construction Zones
Abstract:Under a new law, which takes effect Monday, people must drive through a posted work zone with headlights on or face a $25 fine. In addition, the prison term for someone who causes a fatal accident in a work zone goes from two to seven years, and drivers caught speeding in a work zone could lose their license for up to 15 days. As part of the new law, drivers will also see electronic signs in construction zones that include radar guns, and display cars’ speeds.
