State Will Try out Devices Adjusting I-96 Speed Limit
Author/Presenter: Terlep, SharonAbstract:
Mid-Michigan drivers will be the first in the state to experiment with a system designed to ease the flow of traffic and improve safety in construction zones. Sensors and electronic signs will adjust the speed limit depending on weather, traffic and work conditions at an Interstate 96 construction zone. State transportation officials will use the devices starting in April along a five-mile stretch of the highway that’s undergoing major repairs this spring.
