NCDOT Work Zone Safety Program
NCDOT’s Work Zone Safety Program aims to significantly reduce work zone crashes and fatalities by increasing work zone safety awareness and education across the state. The program is reaching out to specific audiences across the state through a variety of initiatives and activities. The program has produced and distributed educational videos targeting new and future drivers, as well as the professional trucking industry. Program mascots Buddy Barrel and Connie Cone participate in various community and civic events across the state. Promotional items such as pens, pencils, rulers, magnets and key chains are available to the general public.
