Application of types of temporary/removable pavement marking material and special linestriping material

In Iowa, the standard temporary and permanent work zone markings have been waterborne paint. The state uses temporary tapes on diagonal temporary lines where these lines go across the final or UAC surface, to leave as little scarring as possible. On high-speed / high-volume merges and shifts the state uses RPMs offset 9-12 inches from edgelines to help delineate lines during rainy nights.
