Flagger training and certification requirements

From Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Standard Specifications:
“Qualifications – Use flaggers, TCS, and pilot car operators that meet the following requirements:
… …
– Have completed an approved work zone traffic control flagging course within the past 3 years and have in their possession a current, official state Flagger Certification card from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Montana.”

From Oregon Temporary Traffic Control Handbook:
“3.2 Flagging Qualifications
Flaggers who have completed formal training and have certification in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana, may practice as a Certified Flagger in Oregon.”

From ODOT Work Zone Safety website:
“ODOT has designated the Chemeketa Community College Center for Business and Industry as the administrator of flagger curriculum, materials and flagger certification cards.”
