Intelligent Transportation System technology in work zones

Intelligent Transportation System was included in Iowa Smart Work Zone: Application on I-80 reconstruction project where there was two-way travel on two lanes. Project features include highway advisory radio, video surveillance for traffic speeds and volume monitoring, wide-band microwave radar for communication between detection devices, and changeable message signs activated using cellular signals from system control to indicate delays.
