Intelligent Transportation System technology in work zones

Minnesota Portable Traffic Management System: This smart work zone application was applied on I-94 between St. Paul and Minneapolis, which utilized portable system components with permanent infrastructure of the areawide traffic management center. The project compiles real-time data from work zone and surrounding roadways and transmits the data to the TMC, where operators review and implement control strategies to improve traffic conditions based on travel demand.
