Removing temporary traffic control devices with the flow of traffic vs. backing the work vehicle behind to remove the dev
The most common practice in Kansas is to remove traffic control devices (items such as a lane drop) in reverse order. However, if contractors have the appropriate equipment and procedures in place to remove traffic control devices with traffic (TMAs, flashing lights, arrow boards and so on), they are allowed to do so. KDOT does not specify how the contractor is to set up or remove the traffic control devices for the work zone.
