Lane lines in work zones

For standard applications, Illinois DOT’s typical lane line width is 4 inches.
ILDOT implements lane lines wider than the typical width in some cases. It is left to district preference to use wider lane lines.
GDOT does not implement wider lane lines in work zones. Work zone applications use 4 inch lines.
Lane lines are sometimes wider by district preference and policy. This policy is based on district experience and material resources.
