Measuring work zone performance
Rhode Island does not have formal procedures to measure work zone performance at this time. Like most states, Rhode Island tries to minimize the congestion resulting from construction activities by using tried and true methods, such as working at night, not allowing lane reductions during the a.m. and p.m. peak hours on freeways and arterials, etc. Other than the occasional problem, the state’s clients experience minimal delays, which could be termed a success. The goal is to keep traffic moving consistently.
