Nevada:Use of safety intrusion alarms in work zones

Nevada DOT has used safety intrusion alarms in work zones. The type of safety intrusion alarm used is electrical. The system was effective at first, but construction vehicles began running through the location and workers tended to start ignoring the alarm. There are no established state policy/guidelines on the use of safety intrusion alarms in work zones. It was used on a trial basis only.
