Personal protective equipment requirements

In Utah:
Hard hats are required when there is a possibility of injury and on all construction projects.
Safety glasses and safety footwear are required at UDOT for field work and in shops.
Safety vests must be reflective after sunset and before sunset, with Level 2 ANSI reflectivity standard for low visibility. Bright orange outerwear during daytime is allowed, except contractors may stipulate vests worn on their projects, at which point they are required to conform.
