Requirement for using channelizing devices (e.g. cones) to separate traffic from the work area for a work operation (e.g. paving)

Utah does not have standard for this situation. Utah DOT recommends that the beginning of the work area starting at the flagger station be channelized and extend at least a few hundred feet. This better identifies to motorists where the flagger position is and where they are expected to stop.
