Requirements for work or shadow vehicles to have Truck-Mounted Attenuator (TMA)

North Dakota requires truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs) on the pavement marking installation for the protection vehicle behind the painting train. Maintenance forces use the TMA when the work is in a traveled lane. Contractors may use them but are not required to do so.
