Traffic control for volunteer litter pickup crews

Rhode Island DOT does not allow volunteer litter pickup on high-speed or limited-access facilities. The state uses a work release program through its adult corrections department. Rhode Island used the moving operation traffic control set-up as defined in the MUTCD. This includes the use of warning signs as well as a truck-mounted attenuator in advance of the operation.
