Personal protective equipment requirements
For Vermont DOT:
Hard Hats must be worn when work is being performed overhead, e.g., underneath a bridge. Certain other times or personnel require hard Hats per OSHA.
Safety glasses are required for job-specific dangers, e.g., welding, grinding etc.
Safety shoes required on work sites and for on-road personnel. Safety shoes are issued.
Vests are required. Bright t-shirts are not allowed to substitute in work zones exposed to traffic.
