Vest color for flaggers

Texas DOT is sticking with the orange vest for now and does not plan changes. If changes are made, the priority would be to add more reflective markings rather than to change the color of the existing vest. However, currently night construction is very limited. If Texas went in the direction of more night construction TxDOT would seriously consider something like the 2-color vest used in MnDOT rather than a solid FYG vest. Trials have field-tested this vest (orange with FYG stripes) and found the solid fabric to be excessively hot. The FYG vest seems to blend into the horizon more than orange does.
