Removing temporary traffic control devices with the flow of traffic vs. backing the work vehicle behind to remove the devices
Washington DOT requires that temporary traffic control devices be removed by the contractor in reverse order. Recently, the allowance of the removal of channelizing devices with the flow of traffic has been considered (only if the work is done as a moving operation using truck-mounted attenuators on vehicles in front of the removal process). The advance signing is then picked up. This type of operation has been looked at for in-house crews who are using the new TMA trailer device.
