Use of “Saddle drums”/“Saddlemarker”

Washington state DOT used saddle drums in a test area in the Northwest Region. The feelings were that they provided good barrier delineation (large target value) but were somewhat expensive for the benefit from using them. They must be cleaned, just like any barrier-mounted delineator, to maintain the effectiveness.
