Application Period Ends for Roadway Safety Awards

Abstract:

The prestigious 2003 National Roadway Safety Awards program, jointly sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration and the Roadway Safety Foundation, was launched in early April and at press time applications are being assembled for review. The more than 100 submissions have exceeded expectations, and have flooded the FHWA offices on June 20, 2003, when the application period closed. The review process by a Blue Ribbon Panel of judges begins later this month. The program is aimed at recognizing outstanding safety achievements by various entities around the country. RSF promoted the awards program aggressively to boost participation levels in this prestigious program.
