Bidding Practices for Traffic Control in Worksites
Abstract:In order to determine which bidding practices are being used in the individual states and to evaluate how effective these practices are, the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) distributed a survey in 1991 to all ATSSA members involved in traffic control in work sites and to all state traffic engineers. The purpose of this initiative is to identify the states’ typical practices, discuss benefits and problems with certain practices, and provide guidance and discussion that would aid states and industry representatives to review current practices and develop revisions where needed. Survey results are shown using two tables.
