Cameras Sought for Work Zones on Pennsylvania Highways

Author/Presenter: Schmitz, Jon
Abstract:

Associated Pennsylvania Constructors and its over 400 members will push for legislation allowing the use of cameras to enforce speed limits in work zones. The group expressed concern that a higher speed limit of 70 mph implemented on parts of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and soon to be on some interstates, accompanied by an increase in work zone speed limits to 55 mph would lead to more speeding in construction zones, endangering workers. The efforts have received support from Pennsylvania state government.
