Cameras Would Catch Red-Light Violators

Author/Presenter: Foley, Ryan J.
Abstract:

Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin proposed to allow state and local law enforcement agencies to install cameras at intersections and in highway construction zones to catch the violators. Rep. Marlin Schneider, a privacy advocate who pushed for the ban on the use of photo equipment to catch speeders in 1995, objected to the proposal. Most police chiefs would likely favor adding the cameras but want to make sure it is implemented in a safe and fair manner.
