Considerations for Non-Motorized Users in Work Zones

This document offers suggestions for designing and managing work zones to consider non-motorized users such as pedestrians and bicyclists as well as a prompt list found in the appendix to assist with implementation. Emphasizing the Safe System Approach, it integrates ADA and PROWAG requirements, speed management tactics, and thorough communication strategies to remove severe conflicts and reduce crash risks. Collectively, these measures aim to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in work zones for all.
