Construction Signs Warn of Zombies: Hackers Change Public Safety Message
Abstract:The road signs near the intersection of Lamar and Martin Luther King boulevards in Austin, Texas, usually warn drivers about upcoming construction, but on the morning of Monday, January 26, they were taken over by hackers and warned of “zombies ahead.” Although some drivers were amused by the hacked messages, this is a crime of a class C misdemeanor in Texas and it endangers the public.
