‘Does It Bring Awareness to Them?’ MDOT Explains Reasoning Behind Orange Lanes in Construction Zones

Author/Presenter: Hoxie, Ali
Abstract:

MDOT released an online survey asking drivers for feeback on the use of orange lines on the flex route construction project on I-96 between US-23 and I-275 to direct traffic through construction zone. MDOT wants to find out if orange lines help bring awareness to work zones and also hopes to know how autonomous vehicles interact with the color change as the use of smart roads continue to grow in Michigan.
