Emergency Response in Construction Zones

On June 30, one lane was closed for hours after a semi hit a guardrail in a construction zone on 1-75 N near Dayton, causing a backup. This incident brought up the questions regarding if the delays like this would impact first responders and if construction zones are designed with emergency response in mind. The author interviewed representatives from Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Department of Transportation. The comments received are included in this article.
