Ensuring Safety in Road Work Zones

In response to the grim statistics regarding road work zone safety, federal regulators are developing more effective zone guidelines and improving the safety of traffic control devices. Over the last 4 years, approximately 775 people were killed annually in highway work zones and approximately 24,000 accidents occurred that involved injuries. Among the topics discussed are increased safety regulations and product improvements.
