Fines for Speeding Through Iowa Work Zones Rise

Starting July 1, 2008, drivers caught speeding in an Iowa construction zone will pay more than double the current fine. Signs that say “Work Zone: $1,000 Max Fine for Speeding. Other Fines Double” will be placed at 84 spots on Iowa’s interstates and expressways and 159 locations on primary two-lane highways.
