Illinois DOT to Use Sensors to Catch Work-Zone Speed Violators
Abstract:The Illinois Department of Transportation has been experimenting with various types of work-zone speed limit enforcement techniques. For the past few years, mobile vans have been employed to capture motorists travelling too fast through job sites. However, new technology has given the Illinois Department of Transportation the ability to monitor motorists speed without having to employ vans. Static speed sensors have been placed before and in work zones to nab speeding drivers.
