INDOT Stresses Work Zone Safety

On March 24, a highway worker was killed when his vehicle was hit by a truck as he worked along Interstate 164. The Indiana Department of Transportation is increasing its public awareness efforts during National Work Zone Awareness Week. Indiana expects an increase in the number of work zones due to the National Recovery Act. The article cites a few common hazardous activities in which drivers engage, and how Indiana is raising awareness about these activities and the penalties for negligence.
