Maryland Police, Highway Agency Deploy Speed Cameras in I-70 Work Zone
Abstract:The Maryland state police are deploying the “Safezones” automated speed enforcement system with cameras along a work zone on eastbound Interstate 70. According to Maryland State Highway Administration, speeding violations have decreased by more than 90 percent in places where SafeZones systems are used. Currently, the automated speed enforcement cameras are active in nine other Maryland work zones.
