More than 500 Work Zone Violations Issued During Operation Drive Smart

Abstract:

540 citations were issued for speed violations in work zones across the state of North Carolina during Operation Drive Smart 2009, the state’s work zone safety enforcement campaign. The campaign, which ran from April 6-12, was a joint effort between the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety to encourage motorists to slow down and pay attention when traveling through North Carolina work zones.
