National Work Zone Awareness Week Calls Attention to Increases in Fatalities, Injuries, Road Hazards and Dangers of Work Zones

The sixth annual National Work Zone Awareness Week was held from April 3 to April 9 of 2005. The purpose of NWZAW was to educate the nation on work zone related injuries and fatalities. The number of fatalities and the number of fatal crashes decreased from 2002 to 2003. However, those numbers have significantly increased from a decade ago.
