New Ohio Hit-and-Run Law Starts Today: Tougher Penalties for Leaving an Accident Scene

A hit and run accident involving a construction worker in Ohio has led to new and more severe penalties for leaving the scene of an accident. Before the accident, leaving the scene was a felony only if you made the victim’s injuries worse by leaving. Under the new law, leaving the scene could lead up to one year for seriously injuring someone and up to five years for killing someone.
