New Safety Campaign Aimed at Road Crews and Drivers
Abstract:The Federal Highway Administration, with 21 state departments of transportation, has developed the work zone safety outreach campaign, “Get the Picture, Listen to the Signs.” Studies show that drivers often do not understand or pay attention to warning signs, nor do they understand the gravity of work zone safety issues. The goal of the campaign is to advise motorists of construction zone warning sign meanings as well as the danger posed to travelers by work zones.
