NYSDOT, State Police and Thruway Announce “Operation Hard Hat’: Second Year of Unique Speeding Enforcement Effort in Work Zones (Oneida County)

Abstract:

New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Commissioner Joseph H. Boardman, State Police Superintendent Wayne E. Bennett, and Thruway Authority Executive Director Michael R. Fleischer today announced the local start of “Operation Hard Hat,” a work zone safety initiative designed to enforce speed limits and protect construction workers and motorists. The program features intensive monitoring of work zones by radar-equipped state troopers stationed in and around such sites.
