ODOT Making Changes After Eighth Crashes off I-270

Author/Presenter: Redick, Geoff
Abstract:

Eight trucks went off the highway since April. Those crashes have coincided with highway lanes narrowing and shifting caused by an I-270 widening project. To prevent such crashes in the future, Ohio Department of Transportation would implement additional safety measures on I-270, which include adding more reflective markers on the guardrail and barrier wall, placing more orange barrels before and after the barrier wall, and adding portable message boards to alert drivers of narrow lanes.
