Abstract:Primary issues involved in this case include:
– Pavement edge dropoffs from one and one-half to five inches deep
– DOT’s duty to treat dropoffs of more than one and one-half inches
– Adequacy of signs and reduced speed limit to mitigate the hazard of edge dropoff
– Driver’s failure to use provided recovery zone
– Previous crashes as evidence of a drop-off hazard.
