Oklahoma Measure Prohibiting Texting While Driving Advances
Author/Presenter: McNutt, MichaelAbstract:
The House Public Safety Committee recently passed Bill 1316, which makes texting while driving illegal and prohibits cell phone usage in school zones and road construction zones. The bill also bans all cell phone usage for motorists 18 and under, unless the cell phone is being used during an emergency. The bill is now making its way to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, where it will be voted upon once again. If the bill passes, Oklahoma will become the thirty-sixth state to outlaw texting while driving.
