Abstract:

As local and state transportation agencies across the nation prepare for the busy road construction season, National Work Zone Safety Week gets underway, April 8 through 12 with a patriotic theme, “Roadways Keep America Moving”. According to the most recent statistics available, in Tennessee 20 people died in work zone related crashes in 2000. Tennessee Department of Transportation encourages all motorists to consider the role they play in keeping our roads and construction sites safe during this National Work Zone Safety Week.
