Speeding in Work Zones Becomes Costlier with Passage of New State Law

Abstract:

TxDOT Press Release discussing double fines that will occur if a motorist is caught speeding or ignoring warning signs in construction zones. “Motorists who blatantly disregard construction laws will have to ante up more money for their transgressions. Under House Bill 981, which passed this legislative session, fines will double for speeding in construction zones or ignoring warning signs. That means that motorists who don’t obey posted construction warning signs could pay as much as $400 for the offense.”
